having birthdays and getting older has never really freaked me out, but lately, i'm just starting to feel it, you know? like being able to use my achy bones as a barometer to predict the weather, isn't this something reserved for geriatrics? and hearing my kids say things like, "hey mom, can you help me set up a facebook page", and "mom, tuesday is registration for high school", and worst of all - "should i do driver's ed over the summer or next year during school?", reminding me that we are definitely in the full swing of teenagerhood. and until recently, i've only ever had maybe one grey hair visit me every few months or so, and now it seems like they must be having some kind of family reunion on my head because i'm constantly plucking them out. and i just won't even get into the "excessive chin hair after thirty" issue, except to say, what the in the world? why didn't someone WARN me about this so i could've braced myself? and what, may i ask, is happening to my neck? what kind of a cruel joke is saggy neck syndrome? sigh.ok, so really it's not my birthday, but it kind of feels like it is. only, not in a good, i-get-to-eat-cake-and-get-presents kind of way, only in the i-feel-old kind of way. the scariest part is, what's next? could someone please just give me a heads up!?

A friend of mine wrote this little poem on a birthday card to me once that I thought was interesting...
"When a woman is 30 her child deforms her, when she is 40 he preserve her, and 50 makes her young again."
I'm counting on the whole "preserving" thing to hold true! :)
funny blog...sorry about the gray hair...glad to hear it's also happening to someone much younger than me too!
From an older person to a younger person just wait there is plenty more to come and it will age you even faster!!!! I think I have aged at least 10 years since Emily started high school, dating and driving!

yes...age is some sort of very dirty trick, you never believe it is coming when your young and then you blink and 40 is right around the corner, (well for me)
also, Ethan looked so happy in his new bed. has he missed the crib though?
Uh, yeah, I wish someone would have warned me about the strange chin hairs. Seriously. And I'm with you on the achy knees when the weather changes -- that really makes me feel old!
But I think your kids asking YOU to help THEM make a facebook page should make you feel young!!
