there's nothing like 100 degree whether for a few weeks straight to make you want to cut off ten pounds worth of long thick hair from your sweaty head!
my hair appointment couldn't come soon enough, i was
so ready to chop these locks! blow drying alone has been taking over 25 minutes, not to mention curling and the amount of shampoo and conidtioner that i was burning through each month. not fun.
i was a little nervous because i don't think that my hair has ever been this long, and it's obviously been a long time since i had a significant amount taken off. but change is good and so i sat all giddy and giggling in the chair as carri the miracle worker, a.k.a. hair dresser, worked her magic.
my braids ended up being over 14 inches long! wow! it was a little surreal seeing them on the table next to me while carri was working my style, sort of like seeing my arm or something sitting there. i kept thinking,
"that was attached to me a few minutes ago". so they're hanging in a big ziploc on the fridge for a few days, and then i'm mailing off to locks of love for someone who needs them to enjoy.
i feel like i've lost twenty pounds, and i love my new cut!

When I read this my mouth dropped WIDE OPEN! That was some LONG hair... what I wouldn't give to grow hair like that! I'm sure you can grow it back in 2 months or something. In the meantime, you look DARLING with short hair!
Some people hate to be told this but, "Wow you really look like your mom now!" I think Mende's gorgeous so that's a total compliment!
Lori's right you do kinda looklike your mom....I love the new cut....it looks awesome! don't you wish they would send you a photo of how they use your hair at locks of love? Great blog

I love the new haircut!!! I am jealous....I wish I could get my hair like this but it too thick and too curly! I love the new color new.....very very cute!!!! I am excited to see you in person now!

I loved your short hair at the lunch!! I didn't even know it had gotten so long!! I think it is neat you are donating it! There is so much! Karri did a great job on your cut!! I am sure it is a little cooler for the summer!!
