Taylor is my oldest, he is 12, but will turn 13 in two months aaaahhh! But seriously, he is such a good kid, I can't complain about him one bit. It is so fun to see him, and the others, transform into mini-adults from their little child bodies and minds. What happened to those early days before pimples and "can I please have contact lenses now"? I have to say that I do miss the little versions but I am very proud of the people they are becoming that it sure helps with the sadness that comes with your children growing up. Something I noticed at Taylor's last guitar recital was how little his guitar is now. When he started lessons four years ago, we got him a 3/4 sized guitar so it would be easier for him to hold and such. Now, it just looks ridiculous in his long arms and legs and I think Christmas will have to bring a new full-sized guitar for that boy to play. He is definitely perfecting his craft as well. He actually wrote a few songs this year and Heidi his guitar teacher is so great to nurture and encourage that kind of thing along. He wrote and sang "I hate planes" for his general music class opera and was fantastic if I do say so. He has a great little voice and I think we can thank Heidi for making him sing at all of his guitar recitals. This year he played, "Beautiful Soul" and sang it too, he was SO GREAT! Heidi gave him his certificate and said how proud she was because pop music is so hard to make sound great but he did it. I was so impressed! What a great kid! It's also been fun to see him passing the sacrament in church and how faithful he is to his priesthood, seriously, I don't know what I did to deserve him but we'll take it. I am also so grateful for him to have such good friends to be in jr. high with. Of course James Merrill take the cake but he really has chosen a great group of kids to be with and for this I'm very grateful. We did survive the first year of jr. high, especially all of the homework, and he did pretty well but wow, we're glad we know better what to expect next year.
