men in tutus

i could have titled this "the moores have moves", but since that was the title of my last post, i'm going with with men in tutus instead. however, it is a video displaying spencer's sweet moves and is giggle enducing for your christmas season pleasure.

for the jr.high boys' choir, they put together a number called, "nutcracker in three minutes". choreography provided by allie and chloe, entertainment provided by spencer and kyle and other eighth grade boys not afraid to make fools of themselves infront of a live audience. backround cackling provided by me, sorry about that, i just couldn't help myself.



i have to say, when allie and chloe showed me what they had put together, it didn't look anything like this. watching these boys made me actually appreciate how much work and talent real ballerinas put into their dances. with that said, i've never laughed outloud at one of allie's recitals. my favorite part has to be when spencer gets "lifted" by his partner who is tiny.

pride of ownership

while trying on new school jeans, i asked allie to turn around and "show me the butt" because i wanted to see how they fit.
she proceeded to shake her bootie to spice things up.
it brought to my attention this tahitian hip gene my daughter possesses that i was previously unaware of.
how on earth does she DO that?



she definitely did not get that oval hip swaying motion ability from her mother.
nope.
nosiree.
no skill whatsoever from me.
i would say that ethan's "technique" more closely resembles my own.
and seriously?
what makes a mother more proud than her daughter shaking her bootie?

p.s. she's going to die when she realizes i posted this. sorry allie, it's just too funny not to share.

funny guy

ever since ethan was very small, he has had this funny little quirk about him that always makes us laugh. i call it the "anticipation dance". he does it whenever he is watching or waiting for something to happen. a classic example of this was when he would send a marble down the marble track. as he watches the marble go down through the maze of track, he hops from foot to foot in a marching, hopping sort of dance. it's not reserved only for the marble track though, ethan dances while waiting for a train to come around, a toy car to race down the hallway, or even a suspenseful part of a movie.

so ethan loves going to primary children's hospital for taylor's well checks every three months because in the waiting room there is a fun toy mounted on the wall, perfect for the anticipation dance, it has large balls that move through a series of obstacles you can move and change as they fall . te last time we were there, i got a little bit of it on video, because let's face it, it's kind of hard to describe and something that i always want to remember about him.

tickle your fancy

while at costco this evening, allie decided to turn an ordinary neck massager into a bum tickler. the video does not do justice to how funny it was to see him try to balance up on those rotating balls and how surprised and amused he was by the whole thing. at one point ethan was laughing so hard that we were all wiping the laugh-tears out of our eyes. i tried SO hard not to laugh while taking the video so as not to distract from the giggling toddler, but as soon as you click the play button you'll see that i failed miserably.
oh man, i love a good belly laugh.

the economy isn't bad for everyone

ok, so i am not a big "forwarder" of emails, i hate a bunch of crap in my inbox and assume other's don't love it either. BUT. i got one from my SIL april today that made me laugh hard enough i thought it needed to be posted! leave me a comment telling me what you think - and thanks apey for the good laugh!**disclaimer** i meant to say earlier that as funny as this video is, i am not of the opinion that george bush is responsible for this economic crisis. in fact, i feel really irritated when the media praises or blames whoever is president when things are good or bad in this country. it's actually one of my big pet peeves. anyway, as much as i don't love george bush, i'm not naive enough to think that this is all this fault. with that said, it's a pretty funny video....and really, i'm only posting it for laughs.

the other night i was getting ethan ready for bed and asked him where his blanket was. his response was, "i have no idea". i did a double take, what the hey? who said that?! and how the heck does he know what that means? little turkey!
his vocabulary is growing by leaps and bounds, it's hard to believe we were ever worried about whether or not he would talk one day. i'm grateful he's talking, but after that comment i really am trying to be careful about what i say around him, he's turning into a little copycat!have i said yet that it's been hard for me to let go if this baby? well just incase you forgot, it's hard, i'm trying to enjoy every last minute of this little sidekick turkey, of all my turkeys really, but the minutes just seem to be going by too fast.

teeth cleaning

over the weekend while hanging out at phil and lauri's house, ethan took his love affair with goldie to a new level. i don't know how it started, but i turned around to see ethan headed towards goldie with puckered lips like he wanted a kiss. goldie licked ethan's lips and he liked it so much that he kept putting his face in her's trying to get more and more goldie kisses. finally, she just let him have it, licked his whole face off, gross i know but he's my fourth child and pretty much by now i know that kids are made of rubber and that dog's kisses aren't going to kill them, so i was laughing pretty hard about the whole thing. ok, so then ethan started laughing while he was getting his face licked off and i'm pretty sure that we don't need to visit the dentist again for a while because goldie took care of anything that may have been stuck to his teeth. ethan laughed and laughed and there was nothing left to do but grab the camera for a video. sorry about how much i'm laughing, it was just so funny, but in a really disgusting sort of way. kind of like jim carrey.all i have to say is that this is proof that i've totally mellowed on the germ phobia, because two years ago this would've totally put me over the edge.

warming up his vocalizer

a few weeks ago ethan learned to say his real official first word. NO. he has a few other sort of words in his repetoir but he doesn't know to use them, only repeats them when we tell him to. but not NO, this is knows how to use and does so often. i told rich that he would only be cute saying it for a few days and then we would wish him mute again, it is kind of fun to finally hear his little voice, so cute. the last few days he's added to his vocabulary with "doughy" - which means dory from finding nemo and "ayee" - allie, his sister and favorite person (although i noticed yesterday he was finally starting to get the 'l' sound there in the middle, and yesterday he finally perfected, "nemo" which is great. three words. yesterday while we were walking around toys r us he was practicing and i got some of it on video, mostly for fun. i've never done a video before, so here goes nothing...

the second video is of ethan doing the nemo, dory thing, plus is looks like i shut the video off about five seconds too soon, we maybe would've gotten some good tantrum material there!
