not quite what i had pictured

i have to say that when i heard about a movie being made about my delicious edward, i was excited but skeptical. how on earth would they make a movie about vampires that sparkle in the sunlight and go crazy over the smell of human blood without it being ridiculous? who on earth would they find to play a man so beautiful that it's some times hard to look at him? seriously, in my mind edward's face is vague without many details because i can't even envision someone that good looking. so today, i found out they have finally cast the entire cullen family of vampires and even though i think they did a really good job casting some definite beauties, and even though it makes me feel really excited about august 2nd when breaking dawn - the 4th book is released, and even though i feel a little excited to see one of my favorite guilty pleasures on the big screen, i look at this picture and see now that i had a reason to be skeptical.
**do you love edward cullen too?
how do you feel about good books being made into movies?
who would YOU cast to play edward?
will you go see this movie with me?**

vampire love

My sister-in-law Jenny recommended, no highly recommended this book that I've been hearing so much about called "Twilight" by Stephanie Meyer. Since I have agreed with every recommendation Jenny has given me so far, I went up onto Amazon and ordered it post haste. It came Saturday afternoon and my poor family has been suffering since then. I just finished and I have to say that it did not disappoint, even with all the hype, it was absolutely fantastic. And...I'm in love with Edward the vampire. That's right, I said it, I'm in love with a vampire. Jenny loaned me New Moon, the next book in the series and I'm excited to dive right in. So, if you want a good but light (it's supposed to be a young adult kind of read) that is extremely intriging from the first couple of pages AND if you want to throw every thing you've ever thought you knew about vampires out the window, then run on out to your book store (the waiting list at the library is like harry potter long) and sink your teeth into this great little number. - sorry, I couldn't resist the vampire joke. Also, one more thing, Jenny told me that on Stephanie Meyer's website you can read the first chapter of the book as told from Edward's perspective. So, I think I'll end this so I can go check that out. Happy reading!

potter 'pologies

So, I had no idea that I had so many readers until I went to Josh and Lisa's twins baby blessings today and heard a few complaints about my "closing a chapter" blog entery earlier this month. I wrote about my beloved Harry Potter and gave away too many details of the seventh story. Not everyone read the book in two days, and I apologize. So, if you haven't finished the story yet, then don't read that entry, Liz was right when she said it took away the wondering of a certain character. Sorry about that, seriously, I had no idea that anyone was even reading my dumb blog.

closing a chapter

I remember hearing years ago, I can't remember when, about this fantastic new series of books based on a boy wizard and his adventures at school. I don't even remember how I heard about it, but somewhere after the release of the third book, I finally sat down and read all three. I couldn't believe what I was reading, who was this author? If I could sum her up in one word it would be CLEVER. I had neve read anything like her and I loved every minute of it! So then came the tradition of counting down the months, weeks, day and minutes (yes minutes) to the next adventure in the series. Amazon, glorious Amazon would deliver the book into my eager hands and I would spend the next couple of days devouring the pages. After each book I would think to myself, why did I read that so fast, now I just have longer to wait until the next book arrives! They just couldn't come fast enough, I was so intreagued, I was dying to know! So, of course it was no different for the final installment of the series, in fact, I really couldn't wait for it because we would finally know what happens in the end! I finished the book a few minutes ago and I have to say that Ms. Rowling did not disappoint, it was fantastic, more adventurous, scary and thrilling than the rest. But I have to say that as much as I was looking forward to knowing, I feel a little sad about closing this chapter of my life. Cheesey, I'm aware, but really, it's about not having "harry fever" anymore, waiting for the next book to arrive, because there's nothing left to look forward to. I will say this though, without trying to give too much away, I was RIGHT about Snape being good and I was RIGHT about who R.A.B. was and RIGHT about Dumbledore really being dead, but pleasantly surprised that there were tons of turns in the story that I did not anticipate and it was great fun reading it. So, I guess now I have some laundry and dishes to catch up on that sat neglected while I was busy reading...and maybe now I have to fix dinner!

harry fever

So, I'm having some serious Harry Fever! It all started last week when I saw Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (5) at the theater with Erin and Jake. I was excited for book seven to come out before I saw the show, but that just made me remember how much I LOVE this series! So, today at the pool, I started to re-read book six, just to brush up on the details so that book seven would be that much more clear and wonderful! I'm so full of questions that I can't wait to have the answers to. What will become of Harry, and Ron and Hermione? Is Dumbledore really dead? (I think he is, but the rest of the country seems to disagree) and the most important question of all, is Snape really a bad guy? I don't think he is! I think he HAD to kill Dumbledore to seal is promise to Narcisse and prove that he was a Death Eater to remain a loyal spy fo the Order. And what about the seven Horcruxes? I have a theroy about that too, but it's almost bed time and I'm already too worked up! So, I'm on the count down with the rest of the world, one more full day to wait and then Amazon will deliver the book to my waiting hands! I CAN'T WAIT! I've got Harry fever....FEVER!...in the morning....fever in the afternoon.....
