igloo life

our water tank malfunctioned - long story - and so the bottom line is that we are living with no heat and no hot water. it was ok for the first two days because our new water tank should be coming any minute. now, we are to the end of day FIVE thinking that tomorrow was the blessed day when the heat would be returned. but that would be in a world where things go smoothly, and our journey with this lipstick house has been anything but. so of course we found out today that the wrong water tank had been ordered and we will be freezing until monday - saturday if we're lucky, so monday. luckily, we have a large collection of space heaters and kristy saved us with a couple of awesome dish heaters so our house is liveable. i had to laugh the other day when i noticed ethan having some down time watching little einstein in front of the heater. in the mean time, send us your warm thoughts!

I'm afraid I don't have any warm thoughts to spare, I can't spare a square!!! I have put all {AND I MEAN ALL} of the toys in the unfinished basement and bundle the kids up with shoes, socks, jackets, undershirts, hats and some days coats jsut to go and play with their toys. I feel for you though and hope that saturday {monday} comes quickly...

P.S. thanks for your tip about DVD's and iPods. We downloaded the program and have been having so much fun with it. Why is it better to watch something on a 3" screen compared to something 10+ times it size???

oh man- I should've called with our heater!!! If you need it let me know-- it's not one of those cool ones, but we do have a regular space heater.

can't wait for our creative day :)

Oh no! That same thing happened to us in our little basement apartment but only for a couple days. It is so awful! Ethan is smart because I swear you really don't get warm unless you are standing right next to the heaters. Hang in there!!!

for the love! i am sending you some sweltering, face-melting heat right this minute...jack black style. i sure hope that they fed ex that water tank so that you will be able to still feel your toes. remember, our door is always open...and our heat is on!
